Charitable Organizations and their Role for Managing the Wealth of Ummah (A case study of the Libyan Perpetual Charity Association)

Abstract

The development society cannot be fully realized unless attention is paid to   the   social   institution   particularly   the   charitable   organizations. Charitable work is one of the most important human activities impacting society, whether Islamic or otherwise. This shows the importance of studying and  learning about  charitable organizations, their goals  and lofty  values,  as  a  strategic  economic  sector  with  a  prominent  and effective role in communities. Owing to this point, this study aims to highlight the role of the Libyan Perpetual Charity Association  ةيعمج( ةي يةلا   ة ةيرلا    ةةصلاas  a model for managing the wealth of society. By exploring   its   goals,   its   most   significant   accomplishments   and contributions, and highlighting its approach to gathering and distribution of  charity.  Then,  the  study  explored  the  most  significant  challenges faced  by  the  Association,  and  how  it  was  able  to  overcome  these challenges using the approaches previously discussed. The study utilized personal interviews with specialists in the field which found that the Association's work is not limited to supporting poor families alone, but instead goes beyond that in order to promote holistic growth and provide a better life for society .
